Wow! How quickly a year has gone by! I can’t believe that it has been a year since I’ve started this blog.
In the past year, a lot has happened. I’ve become comfortable and even grown to love my orientation of asexuality, realised that I was aromantic as well as asexual, come out to one person, gone to my first meetups, and experienced my first queer squish.
This year has been really insightful for me. LGBT issues and topics are at the forefront of the community (whether the results are positive of negative still remains to be seen). My squish that I had been experiencing for a few months is winding down. Sadly, things just aren’t working out. So much so that the topic of me being ace never got the chance to come up. More than likely it is for the best. Even though there’s been a lot of change this year, some things have stayed the same.
I’m still Mormon, and closeted to most of my family.
Yup, that’s about it.
But I’m excited for my next post. My brother will be collaborating with me about his experience being bisexual. I think it would be useful because even though the LGBT community comes together we all have our own experiences, regardless of the orientation.
Remember that no matter what orientation, sexual or romantic, we are all valid.
