A Queer Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving, as many undoubtedly know, is a time to be thankful. For me it was a time to reflect and be thankful for surprises that I could never have expected.
Earlier posts introduce the fact that I am Mormon, at least for the time being. That being said, the news that I was given on Thanksgiving was something that I never expected to hear.
My brother had recently gotten a popsocket for his phone, and being asexual and somewhat well versed in the LGBTQIA+ community and their flags I recognised it as being the bisexual colors. Now this is my twin brother and we haven’t been close in quite a few years now, so I went back and forth between asking him and keeping quiet for a while. I mean, I just wasn’t positive and the whole family dynamic was such that coming out would be something nearly impossible.
But I did it. I asked. And you know what happened? He’s bisexual. So now this Mormon family has an
asexual and a bisexual. Funny thing is, the revelation that after coming out to each other that neither of us were straight brought us closer together than we have been in years.
And I couldn’t help but think that he was so brave for showing some queer love with his popsocket that I got one too! Some A-sexy colors for me to wave and be proud of.
