Merry Christmas?

Merry Christmas, y’all! Well, at least for some it might be. But if you’re at this house where everyone just has to come over even when you just don’t get along, it turns out not to be so very merry. You see, it all begins when a certain family member walks through the house and immediately proceeds to grab brooms and mops and cleaning supplies and clean the whole house. Only it’s already clean except for the preparations for Christmas dinner. So instead of making dinner, now everything has to be put away to suit their expectations.
This person also has to use this opportunity to belittle my life choices of not dating and getting married. Why is it that it is always the people that have no direct correlation to the lives of those around them that feel like they should have the most say in what that person does? It’s ridiculous! I mean, I don’t go around telling them that they’re stupid for wanting to date and get married. I may think it, but at least I keep my opinions to myself. They should have the decency to do the same. You know, the best Christmas present that I could ask for is just a little understanding and acceptance. And I know that people say that the only person that you need to accept you is you, but some other people are important, too; hard as it may be to admit. But yeah, maybe just a break from all of the judgement.
Anyways, have a merry Christmas everybody. And a happy new year.
